Arctic Cold and Focus

Woke up with a start in the wee hours this morning; no heat.  My propane must have run out.  Guess it gets eaten quite quickly when you run your heat every night. It took 5 months to go through the first tank and 1 month to go through the last tank.  Huh…  Who knew? 
 

My body is W  I  D  E   awake now after the shocking blast of arctic air jolted me.

 
My mind is just awake enough to be irritating.   It’s racing through random interactions I’ve had recently, then surging on to remind me of a critical to-dos for tomorrow, all the while the same line from the same song that’s been in my head is playing in the background.  Yeah…irritating. 
 
Alas, slumber is not coming.
 
Is there a point to this post?  Nah – not really.  I’m using it as a distraction from the thoughts whirling around in my head.  
 
Okay, so maybe there is a point… 
 
I’m finding I really need to put some effort in restraining my brain from being distracted.  It takes a lot of strength (while we’re in the clutches of our daily lives) to keep my mind, heart, and soul focused on Jesus Christ.  My Creator; my reason and purpose for living. 
 
It’s hard work to reject the stuff that seems to really matter and focus on the One who truly does.
