We held a workshop in Birmingham today.  It was a huge success.  We
could feel God moving through us and stirring up hearts.   It was all
very good.

One thing that stuck out to me was a moment with my daughter Lily.
God sent a special little message to us all in a tiny, six-year old
body.

I was talking about dreams – explaining that everyone has them.  I
used the example of how children have big dreams of being ballerinas or
NBA basketball stars.   Yet, as adults, we seem to lose the capacity to
dream big dreams.

Just at that point, a felt a little tug at my shirt and looked to my
side to see my little Lily – standing there in front of the room of
people – tugging me down to whisper in my ear.  15 years ago, I might
have been so embarrassed.  Age mellows you a bit.  I welcomed the
intrusion,  asked the audience for a moment, and leaned down to hear
what Lily wanted to say.

She said, “Mommie, I have dream.”  Those words were to music to my
ears.  I told her it was okay to share them with everyone.  She spoke up
and said, “I have a dream of being a horse rider and horse trainer.
And a dolphin rider and dolphin trainer.”  And she grinned wide exposing
her missing teeth and beautiful soul.

It was one of those perfect moments – designed by God to beautifully display His wonder in the eyes of a child.

One response to “Lily’s Dream”

  1. Lily is beautiful, inside and out. I love her dream. She should talk to Estie, who had the same dream and one day bought her own horse.
