I just had another conversation with someone who questions my new life as a full-time missionary.  “I just don’t want you to become one of those crazy people who hear God calling them to do something crazy.”

They love me.  They believe in me just not in what I’m doing.  I know it is coming from a place of deep caring.  Yet, it often sends me into a spiral of doubt.  “Am I really one of those people?”

They might be right.  I am probably daft.  However, I have made the decision to break through the wall of fear.    I will allow myself to risk failure.  I will take God up on his promises of “MORE”.  And I will allow God to ask things of me that stretch the boundaries of practicality.  I believe in more…

Does anyone ever throw a wet blanket on your dreams?   What is your decision?

One response to “Say No to “Wet Blankets””

  1. Way to stand strong. 40% of all people are SJs -motivated to preserve the status quo rather than challenge it. Temperamentally they are prone to be wet blankets. They need to learn to self-govern or they become the kind of people you don’t want to hang around.
